The name "Tin Rabbit" was created by combining two hobbies of both Chris and Sitereh Schouten.
Chris working with metal and Sitereh's preservation of rare rabbits.
This business has been operating since 2008.
Our Mission: Providing a one stop restoration shop, with a personalised approach to each project.
Total Project Manage: A service we offer is where you can drop off your vehicle, and pick it up restored, certified, WOF & registered.
We will source all materials and panels for you.
Semi Project Manage: We work in stages as your finances allow. We can store for a weekly fee until your ready for the next stage.
You can source your own parts and panels, or you can finish your vehicle at home.
We hand strip all exterior panels where possible and garnet blast hard to reach areas, such as chassis, door frames.
We have two sand blasting stations. One for smaller hand held items, the other is a large enclosed space to hold a vehicle.
Safety is a paramount.
If your vehicle has been damaged or modified, it will be brought up to New Zealand standards.
We do not take short cuts.

If the existing paint is in good condition, we'll take all necessary precautions to protect and maintain it. However, in cases where the original paint is severely damaged or requires a change, we work closely with you to select a suitable colour that complements the car's heritage.
No, we understand that car restoration projects can be a significant financial investment. To make the process more manageable, advanced progress payments are required to prevent over commitment. Our goal is to ensure that every classic car enthusiast can experience the joy of owning a beautifully restored vehicle.
We hand strip large exterior panels to prevent panel damage. Difficult areas such as chassis and frame work are garnet blasted with a fine grit. This is all done in-house.
It all depends on the final requirements of each project.
Tig & Gas are preferred & Mig where needed.
We can arrange for any polishing to be done as outwork.
Yes, your panels are covered with a rust inhibitor sealer during the restoration process.
